Louis Oosthuizen posted a brilliant round of 64 and leads the way at six under par after the opening day of the 149th Open Championship. Americans Jordan Spieth and Brian Harman are a shot behind and share second place.

Louis Oosthuizen played great, he carded six birdies without dropping a shot. Oosthuizen won the Open in 2010 and finished second in 2015. The South African is yet to win this season, but he has a very good season so far. He finished second in the last two majors – PGA Championship and U.S Open.
Jordan Spieth had a rough start of his round after a bogey on the third. However the American stabilized his game and didn’t drop a shot till the end of his round. Spieth is playing his eight Open Championship. He has a win and two other top 10s in his previous seven appearances.
Solid start of the tournament for Andy Sullivan. The Englishman played the course at three under today and shares ninth place on the current leaderboard.
