Lee Westwood edges ahead at Arnold Palmer Invitational

Lee Westwood posted sensational third round 65 and with total score of 11 under par took the lead at the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational. The Englishman will take one-shot lead into the final round over Bryson DeChambeau and second round leader Corey Conners.

With one round to go:

Lee Westwood plays mainly on the European Tour, but he has two PGA Tour titles under his belt. Back in 1998 he made his breakthrough at the Freeport-McDermott Classic and more than 10 years later won his second title at the 2010 St. Jude Classic. With a win this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Westwood will move inside the top 25 in the world where he is ranked 37th now.

Jordan Spieth put himself in contention after he played the course at four under yesterday. The American shares fourth place at nine under par. With a solid round on Sunday he has all chances to claim his first title since July 2017.

For many Bryson DeChambeau is the big favorite for the win because of his aggressive style of play which suits Bay Hill. After rounds of 67, 71 and 68 DeChambeau is at the top of the leaderboard, only a shot behind the leader.
