Corey Conners posted second round 69 and with total score of nine under par leads the way at the 2021 Arnold Palmer Invitational. The Canadian will start his Saturday round with one shot lead over Martin Laird who played the course at five under on Friday. Two of the big favorites, Viktor Hovland and Rory McIlroy, share third place alongside Lanto Griffin at seven under par.
Second round leaderboard:
Corey Conners knows what is needed to win on the PGA Tour. The Canadian already has one title under his belt. It came in April 2019 at the Valero Texas Open. Conners started the week ranked 60th in the world, but with a win on Sunday will move inside the top 40.
Another solid tournament start from world number eight Rory McIlroy. His problems usually come on the final round. In his last few tournaments McIlroy was in the mix on Sunday, but was not able to show his best golf.
Jordan Spieth is another of the big names in modern golf who has’t win for a while. His last triumph came at 2017 Open Championship. After the first two days of the Arnold Palmer Invitational Spieth shares seventh place at five under par.
