Davis Love III and Zach Johnson officially were named 2020 U.S. Ryder Cup vice captains. The duo joins Jim Furyk who was confirmed as assistant captain by Steve Stricker in September.
Zach Johnson is 12-time PGA Tour winner with two major titles among his victories. Johnson has represented USA in five Ryder Cups as a player and once as vice-captain. In 2018 in Paris he was among Jim Furyk’s assistants.
Davis Love III is one of the most experienced Americans in the event. He has played in five Ryder Cups and lead the team in two occasions. In 2012 Davis Love III was the American captain when Team Europe produced one of the greatest comeback in sports history to win the Cup. Love III got another chance to bring the Ryder Cup home in 2016 and he managed to do it. This is the last American win in the tournament as in 2018 they lost on European soil.
