Gary Woodland kept his lead after the third round of the 119th U. S Open Championship. Woodland posted third round 69 and he leads at 11 under par. Only a shot behind is the former world number one Justin Rose. Rose needed 68 shots to complete his round on Saturday and he sits at 10 under par.
Third round leaderboard:
Gary Woodland is still looking for his maiden major title. It will be a brand new experience for Woodland who will start the final day in the last group alongside Justin Rose. Last month Woodland tied for 8th at the PGA Championship which was his second career major top 10 finish.
The defending champion Brooks Koepka climbed to third after solid 68 on Saturday. He is only four shots behind the leader. If Koepka wins on Sunday he will become just the second golfer in history with three consecutive U.S Open titles.
Justin Rose knows what’s needed to win this tournament. In 2013 he won the title after an epic battle with American great Phil Mickelson.
