Tommy Fleetwood (England) won his sexond Rolex Series title at the Nedbank Golf Challenge after impressive final round 65. Fleetwood started the day six shots behind the leader, but after three eagles, four birdies and three bogeys he climbed to 12 under par. This score was matched by Marcus Kinhult who needed 68 strokes on the course today. The duo went out on the course once again to determine the winner. After a poor tee shot Kinhult had to settle with a bogey five. Tommy Fleetwood held his nerve and after an excellent up and down parred the hole to claim the title.
Nedbank Golf Challenge 2019 final leaderboard:
This is Tommy Fleetwood’s fifth European Tour title and his first since January 2018. Fleetwood won $2.5million – the biggest winner’s prize in European Tour history. Thanks to it the Englishman moves to second in Race to Dubai. With a good result in Dubai next week Fleetwood can win the crown of Race to Dubai champion for second time in the last three years.
Marcus Kinhult finished just short, but the Swede has great season. Earlier this year Kinhult won his maiden European Tour title after winning the British Masters in May.
Third round leader Zander Lombard had a terrible day on the course and posted final round 77. As a result he dropped to six under par and shared eight place in the final leaderboard.
