Thorbjørn Olesen took the lead after the third round of the 2022 Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett. The Dane played the course at three under par today and as a result climbed to 11 under par for the tournament. He sits at the top three clear of Hurly Long and Marcus Armitage who share second place at eight under par.
Third round leaderboard:
Thorbjørn Olesen is a five-time winner on the DP World Tour. His last triumph on the oldest circuit was in June 2018 at the Italian Open. The Dane was one of the European stars in the last 10 years and a constant presence in the top 50 golfers in the world. However his career was put on hold for more than a year after Olesen had obscene behavior during a flight from Los Angeles to London. The Dane started the week as world number 376, but a win tomorrow would climb him among the top 120.
Richie Ramsay is only 38 years old, but we can count him among the veterans on DP World Tour thanks to his 348 appearances. The Scot has three titles under his belt, but hasn’t won since the 2015 Trophée Hassan II.
