Stephen Gallacher from Scotland claimed the title at Hero Indian Open after magnificent back nine at DLF Golf and Country Club. Gallacher posted final round 71 to finish at nine under par. The Scot saw his chances gone after an 8 on the par four seventh. He bounced back with six birdies in the last ten holes which climbed him to the top spot on the leaderboard.
Hero Indian Open final leaderboard:
This was Stephen Gallacher’s fourth European Tour title and his first since January 2014 when he triumphed at Omega Dubai Desert Classic. This is a special one for Gallacher as he had his son on the bag this week in India.
Masahiro Kawamura from Japan was sharing the lead after the 17th hole. He needed to birdie the 18th to force a play-off. However he found the bushes with his tee shot and as a result he had to lay up. He finished his round with a par only and finished solo second a shot behind the leader Stephen Gallacher.
