Matthias Schwab (pictured) and Mike Lorenzo-Vera lead the way after the opening day of the 2019 Omega European Masters. The due posted first round 63 and sit at the top of the leaderboard with score of seven under par. Once again Crans-sur-Sierre GC provided great golfing conditions and most of the players took the benefit from this. In a day with low scoring 99 players managed to play the course on par or better.

World number two Rory McIlroy, who won last week’s Tour Championship and the big bonus of $ 15 milion at the FedEx Cup, continues to shine. McIlroy shares 23rd place at three under par after day one and sits four behind the leaders.
The shot of the day belongs to evergreen Miguel Angel Jimenez. Jimenez, who won the tournament in 2010, played the course at three under today, four behind Matthias Schwab and Mike Lorenzo-Vera.
