Lucas Herbert claimed maiden European Tour title in Dubai

Australian Lucas Herbert claimed his maiden European Tour title after winning the 2020 Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Herbert finished the tournament at nine under par alongside Christiaan Bezuidenhout. As a result the duo went out on the course one more time to determine the winner. On the first extra hole Herbert found the water with his second shot, but a great fourth shot from the drop zone secured him an easy par. Bezuidenhout didn’t play aggressive and attacked the green with his third shot. He missed his long birdie putt and settled with par. Both players found the fairway from the tee and attacked the green with their second shot on the second extra hole. Herbert found the center of the green while Bezuidenhout’s second shot was long and stopped in the rough. Poor chip shot and missed birdie but followed for the South African and as a result Herbert had two putts to win the title. He converted his birdie putt and won the biggest title in his pro career so far.
