Jon Rahm took the lead at WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational after an impressive opening round 62. The Spaniard carded eight birdies without to drop a shot and he leads at eight under par. Five players share second place at five under par, three behind the leader Rahm.
First round leaderboard:
Solid performance on the green was the key to Rahm’s great start of the tournament. With no doubt we can say that Rahm’s golf is in great condition. In his last four starts Jon Rahm has a win, one second, one third place and last week he tied for 11th at The Open.
Rory McIlroy didn’t have the best start and after 12th hole he was at three over par. However four birdies on his last five holes he moved in the red numbers to finish his round at one under par.
