Gary Woodland won the 119th U.S. Open and claimed his maiden major title. Woodland started the final day with one shot lead, but after solid play on Sunday he won his national Open by three. The American finished the event at 13 under par, three shot clear of the defending champion Brooks Koepka, who finished solo second at 10 under par.

The triumph at Pebble Beach marks Woodland’s 4th PGA Tour title and his first since February 2018 when he won Waste Management Phoenix Open. Thanks to this win Gary Woodland moves to career best 12th at the Official World Ranking.
