Ryder Cup rescheduled for September 2021

The PGA of America, Ryder Cup Europe and the PGA Tour officially announced that the 2020 Ryder Cup is rescheduled for September 2021. The tournament had to be played later this year (September 22-27), but because of the COVID-19 pandemic fans won’t be able to attend the event. So the 43rd Ryder Cup is now rescheduled for the week of September 21-26, 2021. It will be staged as originally planed at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin.

Postponing Ryder Cup with one year leads to change in the date for the other big team golf event. Presidents Cup, initially scheduled for September 30-October 3, 2021 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, will now be played September 19-25, 2022.

From the European Tour confirmed that the qualification process for the next Ryder Cup is frozen until January 1, 2021. All points earned so far from the European players will continue to count.
