Nicolai Hojgaard posted opening round 64 and took the early lead at Commercial Bank Qatar Masters 2020. The young Dane carded nine birdies and only two bogeys which was enough to spend the day at the top of the leaderboard. Joost Luiten (on the photo) sit solo second at six under par, just a shot behind the leader. The 2018 Qatar Masters champion Eddie Pepperell was disqualified after he signed his scorecard with a wrong score. His total score of 71 was correct, but he wrong score on two of the holes.

Rasmus Hojgaard, the brother of Nicolai Hojgaard, also plays this week in Qatar. After the first day he shares 41st place at one under par.
Joost Luiten is one of the most consistent players on the European Tour. Luiten made the cut in his last 16 starts and it looks like this impressive run will continue.
