Matthew Fitzpatrick overcame Lucas Bjeregaard on the first extra hole to defend his Omega European Masters title. Bjeregaard had a fantastic day on the course and posted final round 63 which climbed him to the top spot on the leaderboard. Fitzpatrick played the final round for 67 shots and both shared the first place at 17 under after 72 holes. On the first extra hole Fitzpatrick made birdie compared to par from Bjeregaard and won his 5th European Tour title. Mike Lorenzo-Vera finished third two shots behind the winner Fitzpatrick.
