Local favorites Lucas Herbert and Brett Rankin lead the way after the opening day of the 2019 Australian PGA Championship. The duo sits at five under par after rounds of 67 at RACV Royal Pines Resort. The day was pretty good for the Australian golfers as the first 14 spots on the leaderboard are occupied by Australians.

This is the first European Tour event for Lucas Herbert since October. The Australian is still looking for his maiden tour title.
Adam Scott arrived at QueensLand as the big favorite for the trophy. World number 18 Scott played great last week at the Presidents Cup and was key figure in the International Team. After the first day Scott shares 15th place at two under par.
The 2009 Open Chmampion Stewart Cink sits alongside Scott at two under par. Cink’s last win in any of the leading tours came at the 2009 Open at Turnberry. During the last couple of years the American plays on limited schedule on the PGA Tour. He announced that his wife has breast cancer and he wants to stay close to his family in this difficult moment.
