Louis Oosthuizen took the lead at the South African Open and he will start the final day with three shots advantage. Oosthuizen made one of the best rounds for the day and after 67 he climbed to 14 under for the tournament. Three times European Tour winner Matt Wallace, second round leader Charl Schwartzel and Madalitso Muthiya from Zambia share second place at 11 under par. A big group of players, including Ernie Els and Branden Grace, sits at 8 under par and 5th place on the leaderboard.
Third round leaderboard:
Oosthuizen has three top 10’s in the event and this is his first appearance at the South African Open since 2010. After his third round he said:
“It was tough again but I played well…I hit a few bad drives where I was left but on 12 I fixed it quickly and then rolled the putter nicely today. I’ve been putting well for a long time now. Yesterday I couldn’t make anything and today the makable ones went in. 18 more holes of good golf and I just need to take one shot at a time.”
The best from Oosthuizen’s third round:
Huge putt from Matt Wallace who will be playing in the final group tomorrow.
Madalitso Muthiya has the chance to become the first player from Zambia with an European Tour win. He is only three behind.
