Kurt Kitayama leads at six under par after the opening day of the 2019 Oman Open. The American, who claimed his first European Tour title at Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open, carded one eagle and four birdies in his way to first round 66. Only a shot behind the leader are Scott Jamieson and Yusaku Miyazato who sit at five under par. Big group of players, including Thomas Pieters, shares fourth place at four under par.

Kurt Kitayama missed the cut in his last three European Tour stars. With his solid play today he has all chances to lift the trophy on Sunday and win his second European Tour title.
The defending champion had a good day at Al Mouj Golf. He is at three under par and shares 11th place.
