Just a shot behind at seven under par are Lee Slattery and Erik Van Rooyen, the duo shares second place. The course was in great condition today and most of the players managed to take benefits from it. More than 100 golfers played the course on par or better.
First round leaderboard:
Last year Gavin Green made his debut at the tournament and finished solo third. No doubts he will be eager to improve this week and lift the trophy on Sunday.
Lee Slattery is another golfer who has fine memories from the last year edition of the tournament. The Englishman tied for 4th in 2018, finishing at 17 under par.
One of shots of the day belongs to European Ryder Cup 2018 captain Thomas Bjørn. Bjørn walked off with a birdie from a terrible lie on the par 4 14th.
