American Collin Morikawa won the title at the 2020 Workday Charity Open after a dramatic playoff with fellow American Justin Thomas. Morikawa posted final round 66 to finish the tournament at 19 under par. This score was matched by Thomas, who needed 69 strokes on the course on Sunday. The both went on the course one more time to determine the winner. It was decided on the third extra hole – won by Morikawa with par. Viktor Hovland had another good week and finished solo third at 15 under par.
Workday Charity Open 2020 final leaderboard:
This is Morikawa’s second PGA Tour win from just 24 starts. Thanks to his triumph the American moves to 13th at the Official World Golf Ranking which is a move with 16 spots.
Justin Thomas didn’t hide his disappointment after the end of the tournament. Former world number one had three shot lead with three holes to go, but bogeys on 16th and the 18th holes sent him in the playoff.
