International quartet leading at Scottish Open

Four players share the lead after the opening day of the 2019 Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open. Matt Kuchar, Nino Bertasio (on the photo), Edoardo Molinari and Romain Wattel needed only 63 strokes today to play the course and they lead at eight under par. A big group of seven players shares fifth place at seven under par, only a shot behind the leaders. Thanks to the perfect golfing conditions at The Renaissance Club 118 golfers managed to post a round in the red numbers today.

First round leaderboard:

We usually don’t see Matt Kuchar on many European Tour events but he became a well know face in Scotland in the last few years. Kuchar uses the Scottish Open to prepare for The Open, which is usually played the week after.

Rory McIlroy is the big favorite for many this week. He posted first round 67 and shares 29th place at four under par.

The shot of the day belongs to Trevor Immelman who made a hole in one on the par 3 15th. Immelman matched Kalle Samooja’s score, who also aced the 15th today.
