Cameron Smith leads the way after the opening round of the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions. The Australian played great golf and posted a first round 65. Daniel Berger, Patrick Cantlay and Jon Rahm are just a shot behind and share second place at seven under par.
First round leaderboard:
Cameron Smith is a three-time PGA Tour winner, but only one of his triumphs came in an individual tournament. The Australian won the title at the 2020 Sony Open in Hawaii. Smith’s other two titles are from the team event Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
This is Jon Rahm’s first tournament since last October. For the last time the world number one played at the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters where he missed the cut.
Another favorite this week, Brooks Koepka, also had a solid start of the year and played the course at five under par. As a result he is tied for eight after day one.
