Aphibarnrat and Bezuidenhout lead the way at Wentworth

Kiradech Aphibarnrat (pictured) and Christiaan Bezuidenhout share the lead at eight under par after the opening day of the 2021 BMW PGA CHAMPIONSHIP at Wentworth. Adam Scott, who we rarely see on the European Tour these days, played the course at seven under par today and sits solo third, only a shot behind the leaders.

First round leaderboard:

Christiaan Bezuidenhout spent the last few weeks in the USA playing in several Korn Ferry Tour events. The South African posted two top 10s in his last three starts, but this was not enough to secure his card for the new PGA Tour season.

What a start of the tournament for the 2008 champion Miguel Ángel Jiménez. Jiménez, aged 57, posted first round 68 and shares seventh place at four under par.
