Callum Shinkwin (England) produced round of the day in the Netherlands and took the lead after the first day of the 2019 KLM Open. Shinkwin had a dynamic day on the course when he recorded one bogey, one eagle and five birdies on his way to opening round 66. A big group of seven players is just a shot behind the leader at five under par.

Local favorite Joost Luiten had an interesting day on the course. He was three over thru nine holes, but with six birdies on the back nine he climbed to three under par. Luiten is sharing 17th place with eight other golfers, including the defending champion Ashun Wu.
