Ross McGowan leads the way after the opening round of the 2022 Made in HimmerLand. The Englishman posted a first round 62 and tops the leaderboard with a score of nine under par. Five players, including the home favorite Rasmus Højgaard, are just a shot behind and share second place.
First round leaderboard:
Seeing McGowan at the top was a big surprise for many. His game has not been at the highest level recently and the Englishman missed the cut in six of his last seven tournaments.
Rasmus Højgaard arrived at HimmerLand as one of the favorites for the win on Sunday. The Dane already won three times in his 55 DP World Tour appearances.
Thorbjørn Olesen also was considered as a favorite this week, but he didn’t impress on Thursday. The Dane played the course at level par after three triple bogeys and is tied for 99th after the opening round.
