ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP @SHERWOOD final leaderboard:
This is Patrick Cantlay’s third PGA Tour title and his first since June 2019. Thanks to it Cantlay moves to ninth in the world which is a jump with five spots. He moves to second at the FedEx Cup ranking as well.
Justin Thomas was the leader after the third round and he was the big favorite for the win on Sunday. Former world number one posted final round 69 without any serious mistakes, but this was enough only for shared second place.
With a win at Sherwood Country Club Jon Rahm would close the game between him and Dustin Johnson at the top of the world ranking. Johnson withdrew from the tournament this week as he continues to recover from the COVID-19 infection.
