Paul Casey played solid golf on Sunday at Green Egle GC and after final round 66 won the 2019 Porsche European Open. Casey, who started the day one shot behind the leaders MacIntyre and Ritthammer, carded six birdies and no bogeys to climb to 14 under par. MacIntyre, Ritthammer and Matthias Schwab finished a shot behind the winner and shared second place.
Porsche European Open 2019 final leaderboard:
This was Casey’s 14th European Tour title and his first since September 2014. Thanks to this win the Englishman will move within the top 15 in the world.
Bernd Wiesberger played the course on eight under par today and with total score of 12 under par he finished solo fifth.
Robert MacIntyre had his chances to claim maiden European Tour, but his 68 in the final round were not enough to respond to Casey’s 66. MacIntyre should be happy with his second place which will move him among the top 100 in the Official World Golf Ranking on Monday.
