Cameron Smith posted another sensational round in Maui and claimed the title at the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions. The Australian played the course at eight under par on Sunday and as a result climbed to 34 under par for the tournament. Jon Rahm finished one behind, while Matt Jones completed the top three after finishing at 32 under par.
Sentry Tournament of Champions 2022 final leaderboard:
This is Cameron Smith’s fourth PGA Tour title and his first since April 2021. Thanks to it the Australian climbed to career best 10th in the world.
World number one Jon Rahm posted a final round 66, but this was enough only for solo second place. Still, the Spaniard should be happy with his performance as this was his first tournament since October.
The round of the day belongs to another Australian – Matt Jones. He tied the course record and played it at 12 under par for the day after eight birdies and two eagles.
