American Bryson Dechambeau posted first round 66 and leading at Porsche European Open. French trio – Mike Lorenzo-Vera, Joël Stalter and Romain Wattel are just a shot behind Dechambeau after first round 67. Benedict Staben from Germany also posted a round of 5 under par. World number 15 Paul Casey sits at 3 under alongside Alexander Levy who won the tournament in 2016. Two of the amateurs in the field this week had great start after rounds of 68. Both Viktor Hovland (Norway) and Allen John (Germany) are T6 at 4 under. Shane Lowry (Ireland) is the last amateur winner on the European Tour. In 2009 he was still had amateur status when he surprised the filed and won his home open.
