Wade Ormsby (pictured), Sam Horsfield, Masahiro Kawamura and Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez share the lead at seven under par after the opening day of the 2021 BMW International Open. The tournament was interrupted for a few hours due to threat of lightening. As a result many players were not able to complete their rounds, including three of the leaders. From the players at the top of the leaderboard only Wade Ormsby was lucky enough to complete his round.
How it stands:
Pablo Larrazabal, who won the tournament in 2011 and 2015 , needed only 66 strokes on the course today. The Spaniard shares fifth place at six under par. He was one of the golfers who played full 18 holes today.
Bernd Wiesberger is one of the highest ranked players in the field this week. He is considered as a favorite and needs a good finish to keep his Ryder Cup hopes alive. Wisberger is in the group of five under par.
