James Morrison set a new course record and took the lead after the opening day of the 2021 Omega European Masters. The Englishman played the course at 10 under par and was just a shot shy of a spectacular 59. Robin Sciot-Siegrist and Marcus Armitage are three back and share second place at seven under par.
First round leaderboard:
James Morrison is a two-time European Tour winner, but he hasn’t won since May 2015. Morrison was almost retired, but he managed to find some extra motivation and stayed on tour.
Martin Kaymer is one of the favorites for the win this week. The German hasn’t played since the Open where he missed the cut. Kaymer played the course at two under par and shares 33rd place.
