Viktor Hovland claimed his third title for 2021 after winning the Hero World Challenge. The Norwegian played the course at six under par on Sunday to climb to 18 under par for the tournament. This was enough to finish one clear of Scottie Scheffler who also posted a final round 66. Sam Burns and Patrick Reed tied for third at 15 under par.
Hero World Challenge 2021 final leaderboard:
Thanks to his triumph at Albany Viktor Hovland climbed to seventh in the world. This is the highest ranking for the young Norwegian so far in his career. Hovland started the week as world number 9.
Sam Burns already won twice this year. The American had his chances to finish 2021 with a win, but the triple bogey on the par 4 14th was too expensive.
