Tyrrell Hatton wins the windy Arnold Palmer Invitational

Tyrrell Hatton claimed his maiden PGA Tour after winning the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational. The Englishman posted final round 74 to finish the tournament at four under par. Marc Leishman finished solo second at three under par, just a shot behind the winner. Last week winner Sungjae Im continues with his great performance and finished third at two under par. The windy conditions made the course a real test for the best golfers in the world. As a result only four players managed to finished the tournament with score under par.

Thanks to his triumph Tyrrell Hatton climbed 10 spots at the Official World Golf Ranking and from today he is ranked 22nd. The win also secures him his playing rights on the PGA Tour for the next couple of years.

Rory McIlroy started the day just two shots behind Hatton, but didn’t manage to deal with the windy conditions. The world number one played the course at four over par for the day and dropped to shared fifth place at level par for the tournament.

Bryson DeChambeau birdied four of his last seven holes to finish in the red numbers. The American finished solo fourth at one under par.
