Thriston Lawrence claimed his maiden DP World Tour title after winning the 2021 Joburg Open. The tournament was reduced to 36 holes only due the the new COVID-19 restrictions and the bad weather in Johannesburg. Zander Lombard finished solo second at eight under par, while Ashley Chesters and Shaun Norris tied the third place at seven under par.

This is Thriston Lawrence’s first DP World Tour title (former European Tour) and it comes in his 22nd start. Thanks to it the young South African will climb within the top 300 golfers on the planet. He started the week as world 503rd.
Johannes Veerman arrived in South Africa as one of the favorites for the win. The American shared 12th place on the leaderboard with score of three under par.
