Sepp Straka claimed maiden PGA Tour title at The Honda Classic

Sepp Straka claimed his maiden PGA Tour title after winning The Honda Classic at PGA National in Palm Beach, Florida. The Austrian posted final round 66 to finish the tournament at 10 under par. The 2019 Open champion Shane Lowry finished second, just a shot behind the leader. The first round leader Kurt Kitayama completed the top three after he played the course at two under par on Sunday.

With this win Sepp Straka became the first Austrian to win on the PGA Tour. Thanks to his triumph at PGA National Straka moves to career best 83rd in the world. He started the week as world number 176.

Daniel Berger started the final round with a five-shot lead and it looked like it will be a protocol win for the American. However Berger didn’t show his best golf on Sunday and played the course at four over par. As a result he dropped to seven under par and finished solo fourth on the final leaderboard.
