Sebastian Soderberg (Sweden) claimed his maiden European Tour title after a dramatic win at the 2019 Omega European Masters. Soderberg posted final round 66 and was one of the five golfers to finish at 14 under par after the regular 72 holes. As a result Rory McIlroy, Lorenzo Gagli, Kalle Samooja, Andres Romero and Sebastian Soderber had to go out on the course again to determine the winner. Soderber needed only one extra hole to get the title and put his name in the tournament winners list full with so many legendary names.

Thanks to his win Sebastian Soderberg most probably will move inside the top 100 at the Official World Golf Ranking. The Swede started the tournament as 287th in the world. The title secures him his European Tour card for the next two years as well.
Rory McIlroy finished his round with five birdies on is last seven holes to find a place in the playoff. It is not the first time McIlroy participate in a playoff in Switzerland. In 2008 he was leading by one with one hole to go, but a bogey on the last sent him in a playoff which he lost to Jean-François Lucquin.
