Francesco Molinari claimed the title at the 2019 Arnold Palmer Invitational after sensational final round 64. The Italian produced the round of the day on Sunday and after 8 under for the day he finished the tournament at 12 under par. This was enough for two shot victory over Matthew Fitzpatrick who finished solo second at 10 under par.
Arnold Palmer Invitational final leaderboard:
Last week The Open champion announced that he is switching to a new brand for his equipment, but it seems this won’t affect the quality of his game. Thanks to this win Molinari will move to 7th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
Another good week for the defending champion Rory McIlroy. He had his chances, but a poor final round 72 left him at 8 under par and shared sixth place. Probably he won’t be happy with his finish of the week but this was his fifth consecutive top 10 finish at the PGA Tour this season.
Tommy Fleetwood also had a good week. The Englishman finished with final round of four under par and finished tied for third.
