Rory McIlroy set the target at WGC-Mexico Championship after the opening round

Rory McIlroy leads at 8 under par after the opening round of WGC-Mexico Championship. McIlroy recorded seven birdies, one eagle and a bogey on his way to first round 63. A shot behind and solo second is world number three Dustin Johnson, who played the course for 64 strokes in day one.

First round leaderboard:

Rory McIlroy won for the last at the PGA Tour in March 2018 at Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Justin Thomas is playing great recently. Last week he finished second at Genesis Open. This is one place better than his third place finish at Waste Management Phoenix Open.
