Joachim B. Hansen took the early lead after the opening day of the 2022 Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic. The Dane sits at seven under par, one clear of Justin Harding. The South African has one more hole left from his first round. He completed the 17th hole when play was suspended for the day due to darkness. Six players share third place at five under par.

World number two Collin Morikawa needed only 31 strokes to complete his front nine today. He was not so successful on the back nine and bogeyed three of his final four holes. The American is tied for ninth at four under par after day one.
