World number two Dustin Johnson took the lead after the second round of The Northern Trust. Johnson posted second round 67 to climb to 12 under par and he will start the weekend one shot clear of Jordan Spieth. Spieth move to the top after 64 in his second round. Some of the favorites, including Jason Day, Rickie Fowler and Matt Kuchar, failed to make the cut and we won’t see them during the weekend. Tiger Woods withdrew from the tournament due to an injury after his opening round (75).

With a win this week Dustin Johnson will top the FedEx Cup ranking. He is currently seventh.
Rory McIlroy is second at the FedEx Cup ranking at the moment. McIlroy heads into the weekend tied for 7th at 9 under par.
