American Adam Long posted superb final round 65 to claim his first PGA Tour title at the Desert Classic. Long finished the tournament at 26 under par, a shot ahead of Phil Mickelson. Mickelson started the day with two shots advantage but after final round 69 he shared second place with Adam Hadwin. This was Adam Long’s sixth PGA Tour start and he missed the cut in four of them.
“I just kept plugging away and it was kind of the Phil and Adam Hadwin show for most of the way…Everyone was chanting Phil’s name most of the way and there are a lot of Canadians down here. I was just in the background.”… said the champion after the end of his round.
