Ian Poulter (England) posted a round of 8 under par and took the lead after the first day of World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational.Two Americans – Rickie Fowler and Kyle Stanley are a shot behind at 7 under par. The big favorite Tiger Woods, who has won the tournament 8 times, posted first round 66 and sits at 4 under par alongside Phil Mickelson. World number two Justin Rose followed Adam Hadwin and withdrew from the tournament due to injury.

Poulter recorded 8 birdies and 10 pars in his way to the top of the leaderboard.
