American Bryson Dechambeau won the 2019 Omega Dubai Desert Classic and claimed his first international golf victory. Dechambeau continued with his strong performance and posted final round 64. This climbed him to 24 under par for the tournament which is the highest winning score in the history of the tournament. Matt Wallace from England finished solo second at 17 under par. The seven shots gap between the winner and the runner up is a new record for the event. Five players shared fifth place and among them is last year champion Haotong Li.
This win is the fourth win for Dechambeau in his last nine starts.
“Today I was happy with my game. I executed a lot of great shots…Today was a pleasure. It was obviously a lot of fun to be able to finally hoist an international trophy, I’m so happy about that…I was trying to shoot 25 under today and missed it by one, but I’m happy with the results for sure…I was trying to go as deep as possible today.”… said the winner after his round
We have seen many amazing shots on the 18th during the years. We saw some more today, but the best one belongs to Paul Waring who shared third place.
Ernie Els didn’t manage to claim his 4th Omega Dubai Desert Classic title, but still the Big Easy had a good week. The 49 years old South African shared 13th place at 14 under par.
